Hotel Suggestions
We will be in Sitges from 27 July - 5 August
We recommend booking your stay early, as Sitges is a popular summer destination, and hotels are likely to sell out.
Our Venue
Hotel Estela Barcelona, our venue, offers comfortable accommodation and a special discount for our guests. To get 5% discount, book directly at the hotel website and use the code BPEZO18
Alternative Hotels
If you want to book your stay somewhere else, look for a place in Sitges. The town is very walkable,
and reasonably priced, 24/7 taxi service is also available.
For example,
Hotel Melia
is 5 minutes walk away from the wedding location, and there are many other options available on
booking.com.
Flight Booking
Barcelona-El Prat Airport
There are multiple airports near Barcelona. Make sure you book a flight to El Prat as this is the nearest airport to Sitges.
Getting to Sitges by Taxi
From the airport, the taxi takes about 30 minutes and costs about 60-80 €. Also expect that there is a toll-road and the taxi driver will charge extra 8€ on top of what the meter shows. If you take a taxi from Sitges to the airport, they will charge €16 on top, to cover their route back.
Taking the Train
If you want to take the train from the airport to Sitges, you’ll need to find the
RENFE train station and take a train towards Barcelona, then change to the
R2S
line towards Sitges (opposite direction).
If you’re travelling from Barcelona city centre, frequent trains depart from Estació de Sants
and Passeig de Gràcia stations. Look for R2S, offering a frequent connection to Sitges in under 40 minutes.
Using a Hotel Pick-up Service
Alternatively, speak to the hotel you’re staying at as they may offer better rates of airport pick-up and drop-off.

Enjoy a nice holiday in Spain before or after the wedding
Lovely Old Town
Spend a lovely day exploring Sitges’ historic centre with small shops, bars, and restaurants, all within easy walkable distance. Make sure to visit the iconic Church of Sant Bartomeu & Santa Tecla overlooking the Mediterranean, and to have a stroll on the sea-side promenade for a scenic walk along the water.
Endless Beaches
With 17 beaches to choose from, you’ll find your favourite beach for sure. You may want to visit the postcard-perfect Platja de la Fragata directly beneath the church, enjoy the relaxed, local vibe of Platja de Sant Sebastià, or spend the day at Platja de la Bassa Rodona. As the main beach right in the city centre and the heart of the LGTBIQ+ scene, it's the perfect place to enjoy the hot weather and the hot bodies.
Night Life in Sitges
Experience the town’s famous energy by heading to the "Street of Sin" (Carrer Primer de Maig) and the nearby gay village. Start your evening with authentic Spanish food—remember that locals typically dine from 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm and avoid tourist traps that serve food earlier. Grab a drink at the iconic Parrots Pub or one of the other bars. Just remember, Spanish drinks are STRONG. Asking for a single G&T in a bar is a BIG MISTAKE: they'll laugh at you and say, sure, here's your single G&T wink wink.
Barcelona Day
Barcelona is just 35 minutes away and very easy to reach via the RENFE R2S train—it's frequent, cheap, and drops you right in the city center. Once there, the best way to see the city is on foot. You can wander through the narrow streets of the Old Town (Gothic Quarter and El Born) or head to Passeig de Gràcia to see Gaudí’s surreal architectural style on buildings like Casa Batlló and La Pedrera. For the best experience, we recommend joining one of the many free walking tours that depart from Plaça de Catalunya or Plaça Reial; they are a great way to learn the history from a local!
A Failed Real Estate Project
Plan a full day to explore Park Güell, and be sure to book in advance as tickets sell out quickly. Since the park is entirely outdoors, come prepared with sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat to handle the Spanish sun. We recommend booking a guided tour to fully appreciate Gaudí’s vision integrated perfectly with nature, and to learn how a failed real estate investment at that time was transformed into one of Barcelona’s most stunning attractions today.
An Unfinished Church
Make sure to visit the most famous unfinished church in the world: the Sagrada Família. It is essential to book well in advance—we recommend securing tickets at least 2–3 months before your trip. Outside, admire Gaudí’s organic, sandcastle-like architecture; inside, don't miss the forest of columns and the vibrant light filtering through the stained glass. If you have the time, book a visit to one of the towers for a unique perspective of the city.
